Mikey, also known as Michael, is named after Michael Jackson because he was picked up as a stray only a few days after Michael Jackson's death in xxxx. Mikey is a funny little dog with a few quirky habits. He is always acting like he's going to get hit and that makes us think that he was probably mistreated as a young pup. He doesn't like loud noises, doesn't even like for you to clap your hands. Mikey is also afraid of men, which is another thing that leads us to believe he may have been mistreated. It would be nice if Mikey could go to a calm, quiet all-woman household. He's a sweet boy, though, and he gets along with other dogs, although he doesn't like to be crowded and he doesn't like them to get near him when he eats. He's not a bit aggressive, but he will just give out a loud bark and let them know he's not happy with them being close while he's eating. Mikey has gotten chubby while in foster care, so he needs a guardian who will take him for a walk so he can get some much needed exercise. He's only about 4 years old, so he needs to start losing weight before he gets older. Mikey does fine with cats and children. He's housetrained, neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations. He's a nice little Beagle boy and he will need a fenced in yard. Please let us know if you'd like to meet Mikey.
