Munchkin is a Cairn Terrier/Schnauzer mix that is about 9 years old. She was found wandering along a country road in pretty rough shape. Munch had apparently just had puppies and she was undernourished and dehydrated and her fur was a matted mess. Unfortunately the puppies were never found. Lake Cumberland Animal Welfare League took over the care of Munchkin and now she is in tip top shape and ready to find her forever home. Munch is a sweet little girl, and although she can be a bit sassy sometimes, it's not anything that can't be managed with some gentle verbal correction. Munchkin would do better in a home with perhaps 1 other dog and probably would do best with a small male dog because she has a tendency to want to dominate other females. Munch also is VERY afraid of thunderstorms and needs a Thundershirt or something similar. She needs a home where her guardians will be aware of her issues and will be firm, but loving and patient. Munchkin needs regular grooming as her fur is long and fine. We are NOT sure how she will do with small children, although she was fine with her foster mom's 12 yr. old nephew. She's a real cutie with a couple of issues, but is a joy to have in the family. She is up to date on all shots, spayed and is housetrained. If you'd like to meet Munchkin, please email or call.
